Music

In this section you can find out about how we teach Music at Down Hall Primary School.

At Down Hall Primary School we recognise that music is an expressive art through which children can communicate and share sounds regardless of age, gender, race or class. It is a vehicle for personal and communal expression through performing and composing.  We see music as a fundamental, life enhancing experience and a way of engaging with the wider community.

The Music Curriculum

Music is taught throughout the school using predominantly the Charanga Music Scheme.  During Music lessons children have the opportunity to listen to music, perform and compose using both instruments and music technology.
