PTA

The PTA is the fundraising arm of the school. It provides funds to purchase things not automatically covered by the LA. It has been an integral part of the school community for many years and has raised thousands of pounds which have gone towards improving the equipment and resources available to our children. These have previously included interactive white boards, the adventure playground, digital cameras for the classrooms, funding towards school trips and productions and smaller things such as football socks.

Throughout the school year we organise several events.  These are a great way to bring parents, children and staff together in a social atmosphere whilst at the same time raising valuable funds for the school. We have many events throughout the year, for instance a Christmas shopping night; a Christmas Bazaar; children's discos; non-uniform days; an Easter Egg hunt; gift sales for Mother's Day and Father's Day; a quiz night and a summer fete or inflatables day. 

All parents of children attending Down Hall Primary School are automatically members of the PTA. You do not have to take on a specific role to attend the meetings; everybody is welcome and we really do value your input. It is a great way to meet other parents and generally get more involved with the school. It doesn’t matter if you cannot attend or help out on a regular basis; there are always small jobs that can be done from home eg wrapping presents for the Bazaar, preparing raffle tickets etc. As you can appreciate all events take a lot of organising, especially the Christmas Bazaar and summer fete, so anything you can do really does help.
