RETURN TO SCHOOL

Dear Parents

As you are aware, the Government has stated that children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6 are able to return to school on the 1st June.

It is with much sadness that, following rigorous risk assessments, Down Hall will not be accepting children back to school at this time.

We have a  third of our staff who are self isolating or shielding.  The maximum number of additional children we can accept back to school is 40.  This is because we can only have 6 desks in a classroom and we only have 8 teachers who are able to be at school.  I cannot guarantee that your child will be with their class teacher or their friends.  At this time we are only going to accept children of 'critical workers'.  Rather than write a long letter detailing how this will work, please telephone school if you feel you will meet the criteria for sending your child back.

We, as a staff, are unanimous in protecting our community and we sincerely hope that you make the right decision for your family.

Take care
